Ozone 5 adds V-Ray support

E-on Software has announced the release of its atmospheric plug-in Ozone, adding new V-Ray and advanced mental ray support.

The digital nature software developers have included Spectral 3 – new technologies based on real-world atmospheric behaviour.

New features include:

• New rendering support: Fully compatible with mental ray’s Sun & Sky, Photometric Lights, Distributed Bucket Rendering, and also V-Ray’s Sun and Sky technologies
• Cloud Cross Shadowing: New algorithms for rendering more detail in volumetric clouds
• Spectral 3 technology: Based on real-word atmospherics, the engine can produce realistic environments with volumetric clouds, accurate light dispersion and natural phenomena such as Godrays

Pricing and availability

Available for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, and Mac OSX 10.5+ for both 32 and 64-bit.

Ozone 5 costs $295, while upgrades from version 4 cost $95.
