Enter the latest 3D World Creative Challenge, sponsored by Pixologic, and win prizes including a licence for ZBrush 4

The latest 3D World Creative Challenge will be running March-April and we want you to model a creature – the more fantastical the better, as we’ll be judging on creativity.

The winner will be the person who builds the nicest creature in terms of design, stance and pose – but we aren’t looking for a finished project.

Thanks to Pixologic, makers of ZBrush, we now have a licence for the sculpting tool to give away, worth $699.

The idea for this project, is for artists to create just a base model, which can then be subdivided and detailed in ZBrush.

Visit the 3D World forum for the official Creative Challenge thread for full details.

The closing date is currently TBC, but will be in April, so get to work and don’t forget to post your WIPs on the forum!

Prizes

In addition to a ZBrush 4 licence, we’re also throwing in a range of books to help you get the best from your work.

These include a copy of our own ZBrush Essentials tutorial book, as well as ZBrush Character Creation: Advanced Digital Sculpting by Scott Spencer, Introducing ZBrush 4 by Eric Keller, and ZBrush Studio Projects: Realistic Game Characters by Ryan Kingslien.

About ZBrush

ZBrush is a digital sculpting and painting program that has proved invaluable to professional digital sculpting.

In version 4, Pixologic added a range of new features including ShadowBox, which allows users to easily create geometry by drawing on the front, side and top views of a cube.

Clip Brushes and improved SubTools were also added, alongside polypainting layers.

Visit the Pixologic website for a range of helpful documents and videos – including a new Getting Started with ZBrush PDF document.

A 30-day trial of ZBrush is also available.
