Four-week VFX internship up for grabs in UGC short film contest
VFX studio Prime Focus has launched a new short film contest alongside social media and mobile technology company Taptu – first prize is a four-week internship at Prime Focus
The competition, which has been launched to coincide with the release of Taptu iPad – a free social news reader app, has a top prize of a month-long internship at one of the Prime Focus studios in Los Angeles, New York, London or Mumbai.
The competition will take place on YouTube and consists of three rounds, – the first is a public vote, narrowing entries down to the 30 most ‘liked’, the second sees the 30 entries posted on Taptu’s Facebook page where they will be once again narrowed down to a remaining 5. For round three, the finalists will be judged by a panel of Prime Focus judges.
Judges include senior creative director Michael Fink, who won an Academy Award for Golden Compass in 2008.
Taptu’s marketing agency Meanwhile has already posted a number of films to get the creative juices flowing.
Public submissions are now being accepted via the Taptu website up until 22 June 2011.
