Autodesk reveals SIGGRAPH 2011 content

3D software developer Autodesk has revealed details of its plans for SIGGRAPH 2011, including presentations from the likes of Pixar, Electronic Arts and Microsoft

Project Skyline will be featured at SIGGRAPH 2011

Announcing the full details last week, Autodesk will focus on its Digital Entertainment Creation technology while attending SIGGRAPH 2011 in Vancouver next week.

The Autodesk booth #429 will feature presentations on a number of topics, including virtual production techniques for projects Microsoft Kinect, 3D motion graphics workflows, and advanced games authoring, which will feature Autodesk’s much-talked about Project Skyline.

Guests will include the likes of Jay Shuster (Pixar); Kevin Wittkopf and Geoff Richardson (Microsoft Kinect/Triangle Productions); Nolan Murtha and Richard Baneham (Lightstorm Entertainment); Chris Edwards (The Third Floor Inc.); Frederick Fowles (Rainmaker Entertainment); Jeremy McCarron, Brad Oleksy and Troy Thibodeau (Electronic Arts); Justin Denton (HALON Entertainment); and Damian Nenow (Platige Image Film Studio).

Autodesk and NVIDIA will also co-present a future technology demonstration of cloud-based rendering services.

Autodesk AREA

Much of the conference will feature on Autodesk’s online AREA platform.

It will include videos, live streaming of booth presentations, interviews with the industry experts and free Autodesk MasterClasses.

Some of the classes include Using 3ds Max in the Realm of Visual Effects, by Joe Gunn, Next-Gen 3D Head Creation: Modeling, Rigging and Animation with the Entertainment Creation Suite, by Laurent M Abecassis and Live Animation Binding by Mark Jackson.

SIGGRAPH 2011, the world’s biggest conference and exhibition on computer graphics takes place between 7-11 August 2011 in Vancouver.
