French studio Mikros Image creates a hilarious spoof video promoting a new crowd-simulation machine

How nice the life of a 3D artist would be if there was a simple solution to the time-consuming task of CG crowd simulation.

In an original and funny promotional video from Mikros Image, the team show a new process of crowd creation using a ‘special machine’. The ad features tiny ‘golems’ being created out of clay before being placed in an incredibly clever microwave that brings them to life.

The comedic spot shows the new ‘baked’ golems put through a rigorous fitness regime before being stored in a cupboard in neatly labelled boxes until needed.

As well as the promo, the team at Mikros have also created an entire Amazon.com style webpage supporting the ad. It features the new super-powered microwave as well as ready-made golems available for purchase including warriors, cheerleaders and even end-of-series surplus storm troopers, vampires and zombies.

Full credit to the French studio for the funny, original promotional work for the new particle-based simulation tool Golaem, which was announced back in April, for which it was a development partner.

Visit the Golaem crowd website for more information on its products.
