Beyond the Sea was the opener for this year’s Annecy festival that was held in the beginning of June.
The animation – created by Gobelins students Cyrille Chauvin, Marthe Delaporte, Guillaume Dousse, Chloé Nicolay and Christine Shin – really is short, coming in at just under a minute, but we’ve also included the making-of video for your viewing pleasure.
The short follows a young irish boy who falls asleep on the Giant’s Causeway, just before boarding a ship destined for new discoveries.
There’s some great New Orlean’s style jazz going on here and the colour palette is simply gorgeous.
