Project showcase: Adidas miCoach – Schneller ins Trikot

How Studio Aiko created an interactive training experience for young footballers
Schneller ins Trikot is an interactive football training experience, powered by Adidas miCoach. Young footballers who sign up gain entrance to a virtual changing room where they’re put through their paces by the German national team. Users progress through a professionally designed coaching programme, which is tracked through the miCoach chip in the Adidas F50 boot.
VFX and animation company Studio Aiko was first approached about the project by advertising agency TBWA/Berlin. The idea was developed with web design company Stinkdigital.

Studio Aiko CEO Meny Hilsenrad explains: “The idea was to focus on four different walls, where each would have a specific role in the interactive website they were developing. We received the concept designs of each wall from TBWA, and started building them in 3D according to their guidelines.” The team then got to work on creating the fully CG space using 3ds Max and V-Ray.

“The most significant aspect of this project is the realistic quality of it,” says Hilsenrad. “In order to achieve this we used advanced lighting and advanced shaders, and focused on creating all the small details to make the image interesting and appealing.”
