New arch-viz project: F10 studio’s Tower View

Brighton’s F10 studio created both stills and animation to showcase a luxury residential project in London
Brighton-based arch-viz studio F10 is making waves with an exciting new residential project in the heart of London. Located on the north bank of the River Thames, Tower View will feature six bedrooms, a cinema, library, gym, private pontoon and stunning views across London.
F10 was commissioned by Hadley Property Group and asked to create both stills and an animation of the property. To do this, the team used a combination of 3ds Max and V-Ray. “We used advanced poly modelling techniques in 3ds Max to create intricate, bespoke furniture, and architectural-based spline modelling for the overall structure,” says F10 technical director Chris Astill.

“A combination of V-Ray lights with V-Ray shadows gave a wide spectrum of realistic lighting to produce high-quality renders straight out of 3ds Max. Being familiar with many types of lighting techniques in both programs meant we had full control of all the technical parameters available to us, which helped us produce realistic lighting results and fast render times. Sticking to just one lighting method can seriously limit what is achievable in 3ds Max and V-Ray.”

This work is just one of the projects showcased in Projects section of issue 162 of 3D World. We regularly post up projects so don’t forget to check back.
