▲ Chances like this don't come along very frequently. Enter our competition to win a free ten-day Maya masterclass - in the UK or Italy!

Give your 3D skills a boost with a chance to win ten days of professional Maya training from 3D3 World. The CG training specialist is offering a single prize of two places on its Maya Advanced course, worth £3,600. The winner can choose a friend or colleague to accompany them on the course.

WIN A MASTERCLASS ON MAYA BASICS AND ADVANCED SKILLS

The first five days of the Maya Advanced course covers all the Maya basics, including shape creation in polygons and NURBS, texturing, UVs, lighting, deformers, dynamics (including cloth dynamics) and basic hierarchical animation. The second half of the course will cover advanced topics such as hair, fur, fluids, oceans and ponds, 2D and 3D paint effects, layered shaders, creating human figures and linking deformers for complex character animation. As the course develops, depending on the student’s requests, 3D3 World will storyboard and discuss a more ambitious animation for them to realise on completion of their training.

3D3 World has been teaching high-end 3D animation software since 1996, and its students have gone on to work in the animation industry and to higher education. The trainers are media professionals, all involved in television, advertising and the design industries, and have won a number of prestigious awards over the years. They’ve been responsible for teaching staff from the BBC and Cartoon Network, and students from universities in London, New York, Denmark and the Netherlands.

3D3 World courses don’t follow a set pattern, apart from the initial basic training, as the company believes that each student has individual requirements and that these are best developed within a project. These projects are of the student’s personal authorship and will reflect their individual ambitions.

The closing date for this competition is Firday 1st March 2013
