Hey all,
I want to get a new computer for 3D modeling and animation using programs such as Maya, 3ds Max and Modo, but before I decide I have 2 questions: 1. Mac or PC? It seems that there are more programs out there for PC so I'm not sure. 2. i7 Dual Core or i7 Quad Core? My concern is the price, is the Quad Core worth getting? I would appreciate any suggestions and comments, thanks! |

You can run anything on Mac's Bootcamp now and they're as capable as most PC's. Probably a bit more money though...

The thing is that my experience with bootcamp hasn't been good and I already own a Mac. When I walk around the computer animation departments I only see PCs so it makes me think that PCs are better for animation, so that is what it is making me unsure on what computer to get

Maya is PC only at the moment so it either Bootcamp or a Windows machine. A Dual-Core should be ok but if the price difference isn't too big you may as well get the Quad.

But then so you think a PC is better than a Mac? |
