Hi all,
This is a 3D portrait of Cardinal de Richelieu inspired by the original work of the 17th century artist Philippe de Champaigne. My goal was to recreate his work in 3D from scratch and add elements of my own like the detailed chair. I tried to preserve the painterly look of the render by tweaking the textures and lighting. The process started with some very basic meshes created in Maya and then most of the work was done in Zbrush. For the lace details I painted masks in Zbrush and then used deformations and manual sculpting for the final look. After all this was done I brought the re-topologized meshes back in Maya and rendered with Mental ray. I would be very happy to hear your thoughts on the final piece. ![]() Zbrush: ![]() ![]() http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/9746/cardinal02.jpg http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/6...nalchair01.jpg http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/6530/cardinal03.jpg http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/1...nalchair03.jpg http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/4...lcurtain01.jpg Wireframe: http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/8...lwireframe.jpg Thanks
