I can't see that he is missing anything!
With the right pose, camera angle, and perhaps a bit of motion blur you have a winner. if you have the time (and inclination to do so) you could add a little dirt/grunge to the textures? But as i said: He really isn't missing anything... |

Thanks Gnuren.
I'd rather not mess with the pose tooooo much (it took forever to get his hands and feet right... And those dreadlocks...!). Motion blur I'll need to learn to do in XSI, and I may make the background temple ruins instead... But deeeefinitely need to give him some scratches, dull spots, maybe some heiroglyphs.A lot of the best dynamic poses/angles I've done you either can't see his eyes at all or can't see most of his body.

Changed his color scheme so he's not so overtly Egyptian, and gave him some bump mapping. He's not posed but I put him in the old scene for the lighting.
Problem is, by themselves (body or head) they look fine, but together it looks like his head was chewed on.... I tired giving them the same bump maps but for some reason the looks just won't work when applied to both. It's getting frustrating. :/ Considering giving him a night scene since he looks better on a dark background? What do you guys think? ![]() ![]()

I liked the 'Egyptian' colour scheme. At night if you could get that sort of moonlight type of back lighting picking up key elements that would be UBER cool ! You're looking very strong on this one !
You couldn't post earlier because smiley's count as images so you had too many. Good luck with this though, you're doing great !

I have to agree with Flipz on the colour scheme, and a night scene sounds cool.
Wish I had something clever to say about your texturing problems... I haven't, but I feel your pain . As Flipz said: You have a very strong entry! |

Have to agree with the others as well, the color scheme before looked really nice. I think what you're "missing" could be surface detail. I don't know how much time you have to texture it completely, but if you could add that "worn metal, dented, scratched," look
failing that, just maybe a quick and dirty subtle metal surface? The model is good, but it needs a touch of something that says "not a poly"...eh I don't know... I'd also say if you had a way to add a blue (red?) glow around the eyes. Just something that brings the viewer back to the face. |

Tegre makes a good point about the eyes, blue eyes would look cool but at the moment their too intense and bleaching out to white and I think it would look more menacing and perhaps robotic if you could give it some shape with a blueness about it, ideally glowing... don't want much do we...
Have you made much more progress on it ?

Yeah, I'll turn the glow on his eyes down. They're supposed to be turquoise almost, like lapis.
Sadly no real updates, will be fixing his pose and color tonight. Fulltime job at the callcenter now... Sigh. |
