Okay, here's a crazy idea to get the ball rolling...

A still life of what a robot might have for lunch (ie, plate full of washers, nuts, pipes, oil etc etc) - show off your lighting and metal surfacing skills, with some instancing perhaps, and a bit of anisotropic shading - also the modelling shouldn't be too hard.

You'll get extra points for comedy interpretation and paying homage to classic stlll life imagery!

robot one is good idea
howbout texture challenge i can submit model as asset or maybe a favorite wepon from favorite film. maybe model predators disc wepon or lukes lightsaber or bladerunners gun etc etc etc.

sounds kind of good fun to me, most tools have some plugins that might help such as bolt factory, that leaves most of the fun bit to be texture and light possibly.

For a future idea I am working a base mesh to sculpt....

simple torso by Teyon

Well, as another idea I asked Teyon if we could use his simple torso as a start point for sculpting challenge, he's more then happy for us to use that if we want.

I reckon would be lots of fun, minor re-modeling / sculpting only 'wax' style render....

For anyone with no sculpting tools in their tool box, could either use a demo or grab blender.....

And to make it very clear - the mesh is not mine, it's created by Teyon from Renderosity, and he is happy for us to use it....

(I did wonder about trimming this down to just a bust, so it basically becomes carve a head time...)
