Much prefer it without the crazy-lathed bowl. The image before was stunning.

Your fire flower concept is lovely but I have to agree with Steve, the bowl doen't do it justice.
Your flower looks great. I'd suggest keeping it the main focus. If you want to have in something a small, plain, white vase would suit it more and let the reds really shine.

Gonna try a fuzzy shadow single light thing on the bowl but your comments reinforce my own inclination to do the solo thing.

I stepped away from it because I thought it was a bit of a cheap shot .... but maybe cheap shots are there to be called as well ......... Lol.

if your gonna insist on keeping the vase thing,could you maybe make it a small so just the bace of you flower fits in?, unless you going for a light bulb effect with it ?

the 1st render was super cool, the 2nd i was like wtf. though i know your final result will be poster wothey : )
