Poser World releases new clothes texturing tutorial

Need to create your own custom threads? Poser World's latest training video promises to answer your technical queries

One of the most common questions we get asked about Poser is, ‘How do I create my own skin textures for the characters?‘ The other is, ‘How do I create my own clothing?‘

While the mysteries of skin texturing will have to wait for another time, Poser World‘s latest training release does at least promise to answer the second question: the new video provides a step-by-step guide to creating a tunic for the Michael 3 figure. More details below.

PRESS RELEASE
Poser 3D Clothes Texturing Tutorial Video DVD

The main problem with creating clothing textures for Poser is that the people that know how to do so can‘t or won‘t share the process with others.

We believe that anyone who wants to create 3D clothing and other types of textures should have access to this information. It is SO easy – and we show you how!

All it takes is a little time and our clothes-texturing video. With this video you will soon be creating professional-quality clothing in no time at all.

The Poser World 3D Clothes Texturing Video DVD is a 31-minute tutorial using Photoshop to create a detailed clothing texture. Any image-editing program can be used to create clothing textures.

In it, Allen Harkleroad shares his secrets, tips and tricks for building a clothing texture. The video tutorial series provides a complete step-by-step walkthrough for creating the 15th Century Tunic for Michael 3 from start to finish.

Inspired by Half-Life 2 and created by a 23-year-old physics student, Tim Smit's What's In The Box? blurs the lines between fan film and viral marketing stunt. Watch the movie here

By day, Tim Smit studies nanotechnology. By night, he creates movies. His latest, the Half-Life 2-referencing What‘s In The Box? blurs the line between fan project and viral promotion, having gained over 1.6 million views on YouTube.

The nine-minute short, created by Smit as a VFX test, is told entirely from first-person perspective, as the amnesiac protagonist wakes, then stumbles out into a post-apocalyptic wasteland, armed only with the mysterious black box of the title.

Thanks to its slick production and moody atmosphere, What‘s In The Box? has already landed Smit an interview on prime-time TV, and seen Hollywood beating a path to his door. So what is in the box? Ah, you‘ll just have to watch the movie…
